3 Oakland Cops shot (and killed!)....

Doing the rounds tonight, I came across a story of these cops getting shot at. Let me find out the brothers in Oakland are up to big 'tings!

The suspected gunman also was killed, police said. A fourth police officer remained in critical condition, police said.
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said flags at the Capitol will fly at half-staff to honor the fallen officers.
"This is a tragic day for law enforcement officers everywhere," he said in a statement. "All four officers dedicated their lives to public safety and selflessly worked to protect the people of Oakland."
Police received a call around 1:15 p.m. reporting two officers down on MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan said.
A manhunt was under way for the shooter when an anonymous caller directed authorities to a building on an adjacent street where the gunman was believed to be barricaded, Jordan said.
The gunman opened fire, wounding two more officers before police returned fire, killing the suspect, Jordan said.
The four officers were taken to Highland Hospital, Officer Jeff Thomason said.
Police said they were investigating whether others were involved in the incident, but don't believe there is another shooter.
Aerial video from the scene off East 27th Street in Oakland showed crime-scene investigators blocking off a a portion of a street, and a sidewalk smeared with pools of blood.

Law enforcement swarmed store fronts and lawns near the shooting scenes.

Three officers died in the attacks, and one was on life support late Saturday.

The suspect, who has not been identified, shot at the SWAT officers, who "returned fire in defense of their lives," said Officer Jeff Thomason, a department spokesman. The suspect, who police believe was acting alone, was killed.

"We've received four officers in the trauma center," said Patricia VanHook, a Highland Hospital spokeswoman, adding that no other information was available.

About 100 officers gathered outside the entrance to the hospital's emergency room, waiting desperately for information about their fallen colleagues. Some of them were wearing SWAT gear, while others were wearing baseball jerseys after having raced to the hospital from a game.

The officers' faces were grim as rumors about the fate of their fellow officers spread through the crowd.

My Thoughts go out to the brave soliers of Oakland. The police are going to want revenge!

Japan's Defence Force in their first act of Policing

Between the end of WW2 and now, the nation of Japan has not entered into any acts of aggression against anyone. Today however, for the first time they are dispatching their ships to the Somali coast to combat piracy.

Report: Japan to dispatch destroyers against piracy

(CNN) — Japan’s defense minister has ordered two destroyers to help fight piracy in the waters off Somalia, the Kyodo news agency reported Friday.

The Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyers will be dispatched Saturday, Kyodo said.

The order, which the Cabinet approved earlier Friday, marks the first policing action for the MSDF, whose major missions overseas have focused on background support such as transport and refueling, the news agency said. A bill approved on the same day allows the MSDF to be deployed in piracy-infested waters as needed

"Piracy is a threat to the international community, including Japan, and it is an issue that should be dealt with immediately," Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada told reporters on Friday after issuing the order.

"It is the government's important responsibility to protect the lives and property of the Japanese in these waters, which are an essential marine traffic area for our country."

Resource-poor Japan imports more than 80 percent of its crude oil from the Middle East, much of which is shipped through the waters now at risk from piracy.

The Egyptian Origin of Western Religions

This is an assignment I had for my "Western Civilization" class last semester.

1. What were the accomplishments of the civilizations in the Near East (Mesopotamia and Egypt)? What elements of Near Eastern civilizations were passed on to modern Western civilization?

Just reading this question made me shake my head. Check the essay I wrote for that class.

The idiom “near east” is a relatively new term that has absolutely no scholarly significance and thus no place in any history class. Contemporary historians however have coined the term to mean a small area north of the Arabian Peninsula and north east of the present day, continental boundaries of Africa. The countries that presently occupy this artificial boundary are Turkey, Iraq, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, and some of the Caucasus states. Egypt is separated from the “near east” by the Suez Canal, and on an entire separate continent. Several geographers group Egypt with the “Middle East” which is an equally doltish title, also with very little scholarly utility.

Egypt, is thought by some to have risen somewhere around the third millennium BCE. Many of the ideals, and schools of thought that the world runs on today are heavily borrowed from the ancient people of Kemet(Egypt). According to BBC Science, the Greek alpha numeric system that we in the west treasure so much was copied from the written language used by the Egyptians. Libraries of books can (and have) be written on what else the world has “borrowed” from Egypt, but the focus today is on her influence, through the religions centered around the high Goddess Isis.

Many of the religions that find their origins around the Mediterranean, Tigress and Euphrates have been found to have many links to the spiritual customs of Egypt. Specifically, the Kemetic deities have been known to show up in other societies. A Roman philosopher, Lucius Apuleius wrote of Isis in his classic work, The Golden Ass: "Phrygians(Turks) call me the mother of the Gods: the Athenians call me Minerva: the Cyprians call me Venus, the Candians call me Diana, the Sicilians call me Proserpina, the Eleusians call me Ceres: some Juno, other Bellona, other Hecate: and principally the Aethiopians which dwell in the Orient, and the Aegyptians which are excellent in all kind of ancient doctrine, and by their proper ceremonies accustome to worship mee, doe call me Queene Isis.”² She was so loved by her adherents, that over the many millenia that she was worshiped, her religion spread far and wide. According to British historian, William MacQuitty, the cult of Isis continued well into the Common Era(A.D.) when most other gods and goddesses had long been forgotten. There were temples to her all the way from ancient Abyssinia, and Babylon, to “classic” Greece, Germany and Italy.³⁴ Its been discovered that even in the British Isles, she had devotees and great temples.

The Christian church, even today, has many rituals, prayers, idols, customs and beliefs that seem to be almost identical to those of pre-Islamic Egypt⁶. An example is the belief in resurrection of Christ. The pre-dynastic Kemetic people believed the Nile was created with the tears that flowed from Isis as she mourned her slain husband Osiris. They also believed that with great hard work she resurrected him, and thus, according to Eloise McKinney-Johnson⁷ “Initiated the whole concept of resurrection.” While on the subject of Christianity, many historians have found that early Christians truly equated of Isis with the virgin Mary. E. A. Wallis Budge, an Egyptologist who worked for the British Museum published many works dealing with the correlation of Isis and Mary. He said of them in the book, The Gods of the Egyptians “…and the pictures and sculptures wherein she is represented in the act of suckling Horus formed the foundation of the Christian paintings of the Madonna and Child” he also says “…many of the attributes of Isis, the God-mother, the mother of Horus(Isis’ son)...are identical with those of Mary the mother of Christ.” On the final page, I placed a picture of an old Polish Madonna and Child next to the original Madonna (Isis) suckling Horus. I also placed a 17^th century Greek Madonna. Notice the location of Isis’ hand, similar to Mary’s, the location of the baby, and finally the similar halo above each Madonna.

With this paper I attempted to give a brief correlation between some of the diets of the ancient world with those of the modern world, and subsequently, show a few of the elements that survived the sands of time to affect the world in which we live. I could go on for many pages about the relationship between the Christian, the old pagan religions of Rome and Greece (Heru-Hercules, Appolo-Horus, etc) and how they are just reflections of what those Europeans picked up in Egypt. That however, would take much more than a small essay to explain. So for now, we’ll leave it at the “Mother of the Nile”, and the Mother of the new god, Christ.

Somalians Turn to Piracy to Defend Coasts from European Businesses

Somali pirates have accused European firms of dumping toxic waste off the Somali coast and are demanding an $8m ransom for the return of a Ukranian ship they captured, saying the money will go towards cleaning up the waste.

The ransom demand is a means of "reacting to the toxic waste that has been continually dumped on the shores of our country for nearly 20 years", Januna Ali Jama, a spokesman for the pirates, based in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland, said.

"The Somali coastline has been destroyed, and we believe this money is nothing compared to the devastation that we have seen on the seas."

The pirates are holding the MV Faina, a Ukrainian ship carrying tanks and military hardware, off Somalia's northern coast.

According to the International Maritime Bureau, 61 attacks by pirates have been reported since the start of the year.

While money is the primary objective of the hijackings, claims of the continued environmental destruction off Somalia's coast have been largely ignored by the region's maritime authorities.

I wanted to bring this joint to the light because it reminds me of Sister Frances Cress Welsing's work of literature called "The Isis Papers". The premise of the whole book is that white supremacy exists to stop us (the melanin wealthy) from "turning the whole world brown"
